Guernsey FC: Tony Vance says it's 'all hands to the pump'
Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says the busy Christmas period will test his squad to the limit.
The Green Lions have suffered an injury crisis in recent weeks, with the team ending their last game with just one defender on the pitch.
Saturday's game against Herne Bay is the first of five games in 15 days over the Christmas and new year period.
"It's going to be all hands to the pump - it is what it is and we have to deal with it," Vance told BBC Guernsey.
Vance's side have not won since 27 November, but the manager is not too concerned about their run of form.
"With the group we've got, I'm not fearful of being on this run for too long," he continued.
"You've got to put a lot of work in and roll your sleeves up and I know this group will do that. We can't leave any stones unturned.
"Defensively we're short again unfortunately. By the end of the last match we were moving players to positions we'd never even think about playing them.
"We've pretty much got a back four available but people will have to do jobs they're not accustomed to. We'll have to look at certain ways of playing but people have got to be realistic and we have to manage expectations.
"We know our deficiencies as a squad but we're doing the best we possibly can."
