Rotherham United 1-3 Coventry City

Coventry City captain Carl Baker scored twice to help see off 10-man Rotherham.

City's Blair Adams hit the post before Joe Skarz put the hosts in front with a deflected first-half effort.

Craig Morgan was then red-carded for his tackle on Callum Wilson and Baker equalised from the resulting penalty.

Franck Moussa headed City ahead before Rotherham's Michael O'Connor's penalty was saved but, two minutes later, Baker sealed victory when he found the back of an unguarded net from over 50 yards.

With Rotherham keeper Adam Collin up for the corner, the ball was cleared to Baker on the right wing, and from about five yards inside his own half, he rolled it all the way along the ground and in.

Coventry manager Steve Pressley was forced to watch nearly an hour of the tense match from the stand, referee Gary Sutton having ordered him to leave the touchline after protesting against Rotherham's goal.

The game was delayed late on by a head injury to Sky Blues midfielder Conor Thomas which led to 14 and a half minutes of injury time.

Post-match: Rotherham boss Evans

"This [the penalty] is one of the worst decisions from an assistant referee you'll ever wish to see in football.

"It's a poor decision that changes the game.

"We could have the game wrapped up by half-time. It's evident that we didn't put our chances away."

Sky Blues manager Steven Pressley told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

"It was an absolutely outstanding game and an outstanding result. For us to deal with what they threw at us was incredible.

"The message at half time was: 'Are we going to be a team which gets a pat on the back and told how good we are? Or are we going to be a team that actually wins things?' We have to be a team that starts winning things, and that was the response in the second half. It was a terrific result.

"As for my own personal performance, I have to apologise. I was a bit caught up in the game and got emotional. I felt there were decisions not going our way, but I need to behave better than I did today.

"It is a learning curve, not just for my players, but for myself as well. It was my frustration spilling over, and I can only apologise. These are moments I have to do better in."
