Plymouth Argyle: Neal Trotman to stay until end of season

Centre-back Neal Trotman has agreed a deal to stay at Plymouth Argyle until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old initially joined on a short-term contract in August, but has established himself as a key member of the team, making 26 appearances.

Trotman also grabbed a crucial goal in October's 1-0 victory over Mansfield, which ended an eight-game winless run.

"Everything's done with the deal and I'm pleased about that," said Argyle boss John Sheridan.

"It's important that we keep a nucleus in the dressing-room because we've got a very good dressing-room at the moment," added Sheridan, who previously managed Trotman at Oldham and Chesterfield.

"They all get on with each other and I think that's a big part of having a successful team."

Meanwhile, Argyle have also extended the loan of Sheffield Wednesday striker Caolan Lavery by a further month.

And the Pilgrims have succeeded in adding an extra day to Tope Obadeyi's loan spell from Bury to allow him to play in Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie against Port Vale.
