Everton not favourites for FA Cup tie at Stevenage - Martinez

Roberto Martinez

Roberto Martinez says League One Stevenage will be favourites when he takes his Everton side to the Lamex Stadium in the FA Cup fourth round.

Stevenage are bottom of the third tier, while Martinez's side are sixth in the top flight.

But Martinez said: "The home team is always the favourite in these rounds.

"It is about how you adapt on the day to the conditions and surroundings. In these rounds people forget divisional status counts for little."

Martinez, who guided Wigan to FA Cup success last season, has warned the Toffees are in for "a very difficult game" on Saturday despite the 62-place gap on the league ladder.

He added: "We are all well aware of the sort of thing we are going to find at the weekend and we have to be prepared for that.

"We are going to try to be as good as we can and make sure we don't let the home side have the advantage they will otherwise have."

Everton will be without full-back Seamus Coleman as he recovers from the hamstring injury sustained at West Brom on Monday.
