Juventus 3-1 Internazionale

Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, of Switzerland, celebrates after scoring a goal during a Serie A match against Inter Milan

Juventus moved nine points clear at the top of Serie A with a comfortable home victory over Inter Milan.

With second-placed Roma's match abandoned earlier on Sunday, Juve took full advantage to further distance themselves from their closest rivals.

Stephan Lichtsteiner headed home the opener for the hosts before Giorgio Chiellini drilled in the second.

Arturo Vidal made it 3-0 with a close-range shot, with Rolando firing in from the angle for Inter's consolation.

Defeat leaves the 18-times Serie A champions without a victory in five league matches, while coach Antonio Conte's Juve recorded their 11th successive home win of the season.

They dominated inside the Juventus Stadium, with Samir Handanovic making three great saves to prevent Inter from going down to a bigger defeat.

The Slovenian goalkeeper twice denied Carlos Tevez and also thwarted Mirko Vucinic.

Inter's leading scorer Rodrigo Palacio wasted three good chances to add to his 10 league goals this season, the best opportunity a header from six yards that sailed over the bar.
