Hartlepool came from behind to secure a draw against play-off rivals Southend in League Two.
The Shrimpers could have taken the lead when Anthony Straker headed a cross against the underside of the crossbar.
But they went ahead just before half-time when Barry Corr struck the ball home from close range.
Straker had a well-struck shot well saved by home goalkeeper Scott Flinders, but Bradley Walker earned a point with a 20 -yard volley.
Hartlepool remain in ninth position, six points off a play-off spot, with the home side consolidating their position in the top seven.
