A first-half goal from Terry Fitzpatrick proves enough to give Dungannon Swifts victory over Warrenpoint Town at Stangmore Park.

A 14th-minute close-range header by Terry Fitzpatrick proved enough to give Dungannon Swifts maximum points against Warrenpoint Town at Stangmore Park.

Gary Liggett headed across goal for Fitzpatrick to find the net after Ryan Harpur provided the initial cross.

Harpur and Gary Liggett both blasted over the bar, while David McCullough almost found his own net and Liam Bagnall headed wide for Warrenpoint.

The Swifts remain eighth and Barry Gray's side 10th in the Premiership.

Warrenpoint had taken 10 points out of a possible 18 prior to this game but Dungannon have now won two of the three league meetings between the sides this season.

Both teams are in action again on Monday night, Darren Murphy's side hosting Coleraine in the Premiership and Warrenpoint travelling to face Bangor in an Irish Cup sixth round replay.
