MK Dons 0-1 Sheffield United

Stefan Scougall's 23rd-minute strike as enough to earn Sheffield United all three points at MK Dons.

The Blades were rarely threatened in a scrappy game at Stadium:MK that saw the Dons' play-off hopes dealt a blow.

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady's through ball sent Scougall clear of the Blades defence, and he coolly fired in from close range.

The Blades' eighth straight win lifts them up to 12th in League One, while MK Dons are six points off the play-offs.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"We can't say that we were dominant or classy in possession, because we were far from it. I'm sick of players not doing enough. One or two need to do a lot better.

"A lot of people need to do a lot better. We worked hard. It's the quality that was a million miles away.

"The pitch is not only uneven, it's dry, and you can't play on it. We can't play our style of football on it."

Blades boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"That's how we've been playing. We could have had a second goal in the second half.

"In the second half, we played well enough to get one.

"After the hard work that we've asked from the players, today was at a different level."
