After a goalless first half, Gary Phillips headed in from close range to put Albion Rovers in front but Montrose's response was quick.
Bryan Deasley put a chance on a plate for Scott Johnston, who made no mistake.
Johnston then turned provider for Terry Masson to hammer Montrose's winner into the net.
