Irish Premiership: Coleraine 2-3 Portadown

Portadown move up to third in the Premiership after coming from behind to defeat Coleraine 3-2 in the Premiership.

Portadown have moved up to third in the Premiership after Darren Murray's superb goal secured a 3-2 comeback league win at the Showgrounds.

Owen Bradley put the hosts ahead but Matthew Rooney fired in to equalise with his first goal for the Ports.

Joe McNeill's tame shot beat David Miskelly as Coleraine moved 2-1 in front on the stroke of half-time.

Substitute Tim Mouncey scored with his first touch before Murray's swerving 25-yard shot flew in after 64 minutes.

Bradley made a 15th-minute breakthrough with a deflected shot after good work from Ryan McIlmoyle and McNeill.

Gary Twigg and Murray were the providers for the leveller 15 minutes. setting up Rooney to shoot past Eugene Ferry.

A cross-wind made playing conditions difficult but it didn't prevent McNeill restoring Coleraine's advantage, although Miskelly should have prevented his weak effort from finding the net.

Ferry failed to hold Murray's strike and Mouncey pounced to make a scoring introduction the the game on the hour mark.

The impressive Murray rifled in the long-range winner four minutes later although both sides should have added to their tally.

Bannsiders midfielder Stephen Lowry missed from close-range before Sean Mackle blazed over for the Ports.

Portadown replace Crusaders in third while Coleraine remain in ninth.
