Match ends, Peterborough United 4, Crewe Alexandra 2.
Peterborough United strengthened their grip on a League One play-off spot by plunging Crewe deeper into trouble.
Chuks Aneke curled a superb shot into the far corner for Crewe's opener.
Britt Assombalonga levelled from the spot after Harry Davis pulled back Conor Washington, before Nicky Ajose finished a slick counter-attack.
Aneke hauled Crewe level when stylishly slotting past Bobby Olejnik, but Danny Swanson rifled Posh ahead before Washington fired home for 4-2.
It topped a good day for Washington, who notched his first ever Posh goal and created two others.
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:
"Yeah it was entertaining. I think everyone would probably go home feeling entertained, a bit more like the Posh as we're known - to score goals. I thought we should have got more than four.
"I thought we started the game very well and I think their first shot at goal becomes a sloppy goal. You can't let people turn and get shots in like that, though it was a good finish by the boy.
"The pitch is a lot better today but the better areas are certainly wide and I think I'm taking that into consideration when I'm picking teams and I think we used our width at times very well.
"What we've seen today was a lot of good football, a lot of good attacking football which was pleasing and I'm sure everyone's gone home entertained."
