Rochdale 2-1 Accrington Stanley

Matty Lund headed a late winner to keep Rochdale among the automatic promotion contenders with victory against relegation-threatened Accrington.

Stanley's Piero Mingoia broke the deadlock for James Beattie's visitors with a fine volley from 20 yards.

Rochdale equalised when Dean Winnard's attempt to head clear a Joe Rafferty cross hit Lund in the face and flew past goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Dale won it in stoppage time when Lund nodded home from close range.

Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:

Post-match: Rochdale manager Hill

"It's a strange game, wasn't it? But at the end of the day it's about results, and we got the right result.

"I was very close to making three substitutes when we scored [the equaliser].

"I suppose we got two scruffy ones but I'll take them all day, every day."

Accrington manager James Beattie told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"The lads were tremendous and we were better for large periods. We haven't got what we deserved from the game - the performance deserved something.

"Piero scored an amazing goal and they changed their tactics. They scored one of the luckiest goals I've ever seen to get back into the game and then there's a sucker punch at the end."
