Match ends, Southend United 0, Bury 0.
Southend United extended their winless run to 11 League Two games with a goalless draw against Bury.
Shrimpers striker Barry Corr was sent off with eight minutes to go after a tussle with Frederic Veseli.
Freddy Eastwood struck over the Shakers bar from eight yards in a game short on clear chances.
Southend defender John Egan's late header was the only effort on target all afternoon, but the home side still occupy the final play-off position.
Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:
"It was scruffy, scrappy and messy. There seemed a lot of fouls in it - too many fouls from both sides.
"We didn't really get a foothold in the game, only barring 20 minutes in the first half where I thought we started to dominate and control.
"In the early stages I did feel as though we had some penetration.
"We've earned the point here, there's no doubt about that. We've had to earn our stripes today and earn a point but it's another point and we're unbeaten again."
Southend manager Phil Brown told BBC Essex:
"It's horrible when these games do come around. You don't want nil-nil draws, they'll never keep the crowds here."
"In the first half, it was frustrating, they packed the midfield and almost played a 3-6-1, and it caused problems."
"The away teams have got no reason to play quality football, they just come here to get a point or three."
"We are crying out for quality, we've got it in the back four. With fourteen clean-sheets we should top of the league yet alone seventh."
