Match ends, Burton Albion 1, Wycombe Wanderers 0.
Burton kept alive their automatic promotion hopes with victory over relegation strugglers Wycombe.
Billy Kee headed straight at Chairboys keeper Matt Ingram before Adam McGurk fired high over the bar from 15 yards.
The hosts broke the deadlock when Kee's header left the unmarked McGurk with a simple finish from close range.
Midfielder David Gray had a chance to double Burton's lead, but fired across the face of the goal while Robbie Weir saw a late shot saved by Ingram.
Fifth-placed Burton are six points off the top three while Wycombe are only two points above the drop zone.
Burton Albion assistant manager Kevin Summerfield told BBC Radio Derby:
"I think it was a resolute performance and a great win.
"It was vital that we won with the amount of games and the toughness of the games we've got ahead of us in the next week or two.
"I thought they (Billy Kee and Adam McGurk) worked well together. It was very difficult in the first half to create any space or create any openings, but once or twice they opened them up and did really well.
"Adam was very unlucky with another shot that hit the post and Billy had one or two that just didn't fall right for him in and around the box, but they were both very bright, played very well together, linked up well and got us up the pitch, which was very good."
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"It could really have been a 0-0 here tonight.
"We're still right in it, it's still in our own hands. We're in a seven-game shoot-out right now.
"We had a few tired legs from Saturday.
"The final ball is just letting us down again, people have to stand up and be counted."
