Dagenham & Redbridge winger Zavon Hines faces long spell out

Zavon Hines

Dagenham & Redbridge winger Zavon Hines will be sidelined for up to a year after suffering anterior cruciate knee ligament damage.

The club say Hines had surgery after experiencing problems in training and will be out for at least six months.

The 25-year-old suffered a similar injury in 2009, while at West Ham.

"He's been through this before, so he knows the procedure in regards to recovery," Daggers physiotherapist John Gowens told the club's website.external-link

"Psychologically he will be in a stronger position than someone who hasn't had this type of injury and he's also ready for what's ahead.

"Zavon is a positive person and I'm sure he will make a full recovery and I am also sure that he will be back soon."
