Match ends, Wycombe Wanderers 2, Dagenham and Redbridge 0.
Wycombe took advantage of Dagenham defender Scott Doe's first-half sending off to ease their relegation fears.
Doe was shown a red card for violent conduct after clashing with Steven Craig following the Wycombe forward's challenge on keeper Chris Lewington.
Craig opened the scoring from the spot early in the second half after Stuart Lewis was fouled by Brian Saah.
Max Kretzschmar doubled the lead with a fine strike 10 minutes later to end Dagenham's eight-game unbeaten run.
Kretzschmar hit a thunderous strike from the edge of the box following a neat lay-off from striker Matt McClure.
Wycombe remain three points above the bottom two while Dagenham are now six points off the play-off places.
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"This is another bunfight, and it's a crazy league. It's become a big three points today and nothing less than we deserve.
"Maybe the tide is just turning slightly in our favour, and what a great time to turn. We need this.
"The spirit we have at Wycombe is fantastic. They're not going to lay down and take it our boys. They're up for the fight."
[On Doe's red card]: "If you raise your hands to the someone's face it is a red card, so the referee's probably got the sending off right."
Dagenham & Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett told BBC London 94.9:
"I haven't got a problem with the sending off. Scott's raised his hands, put his hands near his face and I can't do anything about that.
"It wasn't a penalty and for the second goal we didn't close down quick enough. We shuffled the pack a little bit today but the sending off changed the game.
"We won't let up now and if anyone does they can go on their holidays now.
"They have got a job to do and I expect 100 percent work rate all the time. We will go right to the very end."
