Barnet's play-off hopes suffered a blow as they were held to a draw by struggling Southport.
The hosts went ahead thanks to Scott Brown, who nodded in Jason Walker's cross from 12 yards.
The visitors hit back on the brink of half-time when Mark Byrne scooped the ball into the top corner of Danny Hurst's net from 20 yards out.
Southport had a good chance to seal all three points but Aristote Nsiala's close-range effort clattered the bar.
Barnet are now two points off the play-offs having played a game more than Halifax in fifth, while Southport are two points above the drop zone.
