Wigan Athletic have signed on-loan striker Martyn Waghorn on a permanent basis from Leicester City.
The 24-year-old has scored three times in nine appearances since joining the Latics in January.
Under Football League rules, long-term loans can be turned into permanent deals outside a transfer window.
Waghorn is out of contract at Leicester, the Championship leaders, in the summer and he has agreed a three-year deal with Uwe Rosler's side.
"Martyn has impressed us all since he arrived in January," Rosler told the club website.
"On the pitch he has added something different, scoring and assisting crucial goals and he gives us another tremendous option from set-pieces.
"Off the pitch he has a real professional attitude, he works hard and has fitted in perfectly to the dressing room.
"I am delighted we have been able to get a young English player with a proven track record on a free. I am sure he will keep helping us this season and become a real crowd favourite."
