Carlisle's hopes of avoiding relegation from League One were dented by Michael Ngoo's late equaliser for Walsall.
The on-loan Liverpool striker nodded in Kieron Morris's corner with eight minutes remaining to earn Dean Smith's Saddlers a deserved point.
Liam Noble had put the Cumbrians in front, collecting Gary Madine's pass and scoring from the edge of the box.
Graham Kavanagh's side occupy the final relegation spot and are two points from safety after Crewe's win at Shrewsbury.
But they do have a game in hand on many of the teams around them at the bottom and have four left to play, starting at Peterborough on Monday.
The draw means Walsall's slim hopes of reaching the play-offs are over.
