Aldershot Town 3-2 Salisbury City

Aldershot boosted their survival hopes with a vital victory over Salisbury.

The Shots were 2-0 up after 23 minutes when Brett Williams fired in from the edge of the box before grabbing his second from the penalty spot after Kevin Amankwaah handballed.

Salisbury wiped out that lead before half-time after Ryan Brett headed in from a corner and Charlie Sheringham finished from close range.

But the hosts grabbed a winner when Joe Oastler poked home from six yards.

Aldershot Town boss Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:

"We were 2-0 up and we were so comfortable it was ridiculous. It looked like we could score every time we went forward and it was a mad spell where we didn't compete and they scored two goals.

"Credit to all the players for the way they came out in the second half with their response. It was fantastic and a vital three points.

"Our home record has been absolutely outstanding and it has put us in a great place.

"We've put ourselves in an excellent position that we can now go and finish it off. "

Salisbury City manager Mikey Harris told BBC Wiltshire:

"I'm disappointed with the result and our second-half performance.

"We've responded very, very well [to being 2-0 down] with two good goals. At half-time I felt we had momentum but we shot ourselves in the foot again with a set-piece goal.

"When you concede straight after half-time it knocks the stuffing out of you and after that we didn't get our game going.

"Fair play to Aldershot, they used all their experience to see the game out."
