Two Britt Assombalonga penalties helped Peterborough edge closer to the League One play-offs with a win against struggling Carlisle.
Conor Washington put the hosts ahead before Assombalonga fired in from the spot after Reece Brown handled.
Lee Miller pulled one back for Carlisle but Assombalonga struck another penalty when he was felled by Jordan Pickford.
Peterborough sealed all three points late on when Michael Bostwick shot in from distance.
Posh could have confirmed the final play-off spot but seventh-placed Swindon's victory over Bradford means they need at least one more win.
Carlisle are now three points off League One safety with a game in hand.
