Dundee Utd are not thinking of cup final - Simon Donnelly

Assistant manager Simon Donnelly is adamant Dundee United's players have not been distracted by their upcoming Scottish Cup final appearance.

United, who face St Johnstone in the Scottish game's showpiece on 17 May, saw their hopes of sealing a European place dented by their 1-1 Premiership draw with Inverness on Saturday.

But Donnelly does not think his side are letting their minds drift.

"I don't believe the boys would've been thinking about the Cup final," he said.

"We were asked after we lost to St Johnstone recently if focus had been lost because of that, but then we go and beat Motherwell 5-1.

"The frustrating thing for us is that we go from that type of performance to what we showed in the first half against Inverness.

"We were quite flat first half. Inverness were winning the second balls and we were reacting rather than anticipating.

"In saying that, we had two or three great chances."
