Real Madrid 3-1 Espanyol

Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale scored his 15th league goal of the season as Real Madrid rounded off their La Liga campaign with victory against Espanyol.

The Wales international opened the scoring after 63 minutes and substitute Alvaro Morata scored either side of Pizzi's effort for the visitors.

Cristiano Ronaldo limped out of the warm-up with an injury.

But Germany midfielder Sami Khedira, who suffered a serious knee injury in November, played for an hour.

Ronaldo had been hoping to prove his fitness for next week's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid after picking up a muscle injury in the 2-0 defeat at Celta Vigo, which ended Real's title hopes, last weekend.
