Seven players agree fresh Newport County deals

Newport County's Chris Zebroski scores

Seven Newport County players have verbally agreed to stay at the League Two club.

Goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley, defenders Ismail Yakubu and Andy Sandell, midfielders Max Porter and Lee Minshull and strikers Danny Crow and Chris Zebroski intend to stay.

Negotiations with Mike Flynn and defender Byron Anthony are ongoing.

Midfielder Flynn has said he was set to confirm a new one-year deal after being told he would have to move on.

But the 33-year-old, in his third spell with County, has changed manager Justin Edinburgh's mind.

Edinburgh has also expressed the hope that Welsh international Darcy Blake will agree a new contract.
