Bacary Sagna has thanked Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger after deciding to leave the club.
The 31-year-old, who is at the World Cup with France, has not signed a new contract with the Gunners.
The defender tweeted: "Of course I wanna [sic] thank the coach Mr Wenger, who believed in me, gave me trust and clearly changed my life."
Sagna, who joined Arsenal in 2007 and made 286 appearances for the club, has been linked with Manchester City.
He described Arsenal as: "A family to me... a club who taught me so much in seven years. A club who changed the kid I was into the man I am today."
Sagna's final game for Arsenal was the FA Cup final victory over Hull City, which ended their nine-year wait for silverware.
