@322You're expertise and predictory prowess must be important to you. yes ?And serious laughter at Pochettino being in for the long haul, with Levy in charge that must mean 2 weeks
Can I please ask that people refrain from mentioning Henrik Larsson on these blogs .Larsson was a serial diver and as such was a terrible example to young kids watching the game. It would be better for everybody if he was air brushed from history.Thank you
I think, as a social commentary, The Sooty n Sweep show cut far deeper than anything ever shown in any (and I do mean ANY) of the Oliver Postgate productions: Pogle's Wood, The Clangers, Bagpuss, Ivor The Engine et al. The interaction between Sweep n Sue had me transfixed at times. Emotionally draining, I agree, but it stands the test of time as a seminal classic.
The real juice is in the Scottish Championship. Hearts v Hibs v The Sevco.
@320 - Wow I failed to predict the result of one game! I must have been crazy to think the current world and european champions might have been good enough to beat Chile! What was I thinking when Clarance, Henry & Rio all said the same thing before the game. They must be muppets as well huh?!Chile were awesome. No to top 4 next season, Poch is here for the long haul. We'll be exciting to watch.
312. Addicks maximus "What I find odd with that is I have never met an Irish person who supports Tranmere Rovers"What exactly is "odd" about that? Particularly given that you seem to spend so much time making inane comments on football threads is it really that odd that you've never met an Irish Tranmere fan? Get out a bit more I'm sure you'll find some but look out for that unicorn poo!!
@319 YAWNSorry for upsetting you. You didn't have to repeat everything I typed, but if it helps you reply carry on.Your good friend predicted that Spain would beat Chile, but it turned out that Chile were too hot for them - see what I did there?I was simply enquiring if in his opinion his new Manager could get them into the top 4? or would the Chairman show him the door?ok with you
@318.sonofwill "you certainly can't predict football matches. Spain to beat Chile. Not at this World cup son""Anyway, how will Spuds fare next season? Will your non English speaking Manager get you into the top 4"first you tell him he can't predict one match then you ask him to predict a whole season!!
@BerbaStick to slagging off Scottish football cos you certainly can't predict football matches. Spain to beat Chile. Not at this World cup son.Anyway, how will Spuds fare next season? Will your non English speaking Manager get you into the top 4 or will Dan have him out by Xmas.Tell you what, my old Gran could manage Spurs & her dog could manage her money. Spurs ain't they a pub team?
Looks like Diego Costa is finding his CFC striker form early. Not even chelskikovitalite can defend that.Oh dear, just subbed off for Torres. Great buy
I think some of you are in love with your own lame opinions on football. Now before you start crying and reporting comments I pay my TV license so should be able to call some of you out as total and utter muppets.John Collins, Celtic [on topic]
I don't resent Celtic having their own forum and would stay on subject if the BBC were persuaded to make more articles available for joe public to comment upon. After all is said and done we are the CUSTOMER!! If it's cost that prevents the BBC providing what the CUSTOMER want raise the cash by sacking the expensive muppets Lawrenson and Robbie Savage who are held in low both side of the border!
never mind the constant fighting and stabbings at old firm----More arrests at and after a Liverpool/ManU game:)As for the football, I hope Argentina or Italy win it.
@311 Berba_Was_KingNew teams winning it isn't as rare an occurrence as you'd think. France in 1998 and Spain in 2010 for example. Although the only team I can see who could win it who haven't before are the Dutch. The other outsiders e.g. Belgium might go as far as the semis but no further.
302.We-Go-Together-YNWA I am curious as to why you supported Liverpool? This is not an anti-Irish comment (my ancestry is half Irish) but usually the response comes back as because of the historic Irish connection through settlement in Liverpool and surrounding areas. What I find odd with that is I have never met an Irish person who supports Tranmere Rovers.
I would also hate to see the US ever win it. I read some comments online that some Americans think they will win it before we do it again. Personally I thought that was going a bit too far! The elite athletes in their country will always look to other sports first, opposite in this country. It's just part of our culture. This WC WILL be won by a nation that has won it before. Shock, horror!
