Aberdeen have cancelled the contract of Calvin Zola, leaving the forward free to find a new club.
The 29-year-old spent a season with the Dons, scoring three goals.
He struggled to hold down a regular place in the team and his departure comes as manager Derek McInnes pursues out-of-contract striker Kris Boyd.
"Everyone involved with AFC wishes Calvin and his family all the very best in his future career," McInnes told the Aberdeen website.
"Calvin is a good guy and was a popular figure in the dressing room and around the club in general."
Zola, who had joined Aberdeen on a two-year deal, lists Burton Albion and Oldham Athletic among his former clubs.
