Tranmere Rovers have signed defender Marcus Holness on a two-year contract after two seasons with Burton Albion.
The 25-year-old was offered a new deal by the Brewers but he has instead decided to join relegated Rovers.
"He's got plenty of experience with Rochdale and Burton in League Two," Tranmere manager Rob Edwards told the club website.
"He's good in the air, fast and is a player I've been impressed by every time I've seen him."
Holness is the second new arrival at Prenton Park in the space of 24 hours, following the signing of striker Kayode Odejayi.
