Eastleigh have signed former Aldershot captain Craig Stanley ahead of their debut Conference Premier campaign.
"I'm very grateful Eastleigh have spent the time and the effort to get me to sign," Stanley told BBC Radio Solent.
"The club want to give it a good go and we'll see at the end of the season where we are."
He added: "I would imagine that the gaffer will try to bring a few more players in to make the squad stronger and hopefully we'll be pushing for the play-offs or even promotion."
Stanley began his career at Walsall before moving on to Hereford where he helped the club achieve promotion into the Football League in 2006.
He subsequently had spells with Morecambe, Torquay and Bristol Rovers.
