Bordeaux say their Mali striker, Cheick Diabate, has been sent to see knee specialists in a bid to regain fitness.
The French club say their Gabonese midfielder, Andre Biyogo Poko, is also seeing specialist doctors.
Mali international Diabate, who was the club's top-scorer with 12 goals last season despite ongoing knee problems, will undergo two weeks of treatment at a Lyon clinic.
It rules him out of the team's training camp between 12-18 July.
Biyogo Poko, 21, had complained of knee trouble since pre-season training began at the end of June.
He will visit a surgeon in Marseille, although his club have not specified how much time he will be out.
