Defender Tim Ream has signed a new three-year deal with Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old United States international required a work permit hearing before extending his stay.
Ream has made 76 appearances for Bolton since arriving from Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls in January 2012.
"I certainly feel like I've developed as a player during my time over here," Ream told the club website.
He made 45 appearances in all competitions last term and joined Bolton for £2.5m as a replacement for Gary Cahill, who moved to Chelsea.
Last season Ream collected both the club's and Bolton Wanderers supporters' association player of the year awards.
