Match ends, St. Mirren 2, Dunfermline Athletic 1.
A double from substitute Ross Caldwell helped St Mirren come from behind at home to Dunfermline in the second round of the League Cup.
Lewis Spence fired the Pars ahead on nine minutes as the Saints defence failed to clear from a free-kick.
Adam Drury hit the crossbar and Jeroen Tesselaar shot wide as the hosts sought a reply before the interval.
Caldwell evaded a couple of challenges to slot home on 50 minutes and the striker rifled in again on 79 minutes.
Under-pressure Buddies manager Tommy Craig made two alterations at the break in an attempt to try and inject some much needed verve into his team's play.
Steven Thompson and debutant Isaac Osbourne were replaced by Calum Ball and Caldwell respectively and the two forwards breathed new life into the Paisley side.
However, the League One visitors came close to taking the lead again only for Chiguzie Ogwu to be denied by a smart save from Marian Kello.
St Mirren came close when Jason Naismith was inches away from getting on the end of a Drury delivery, before Caldwell was denied by a block from Pars keeper Ryan Scully.
Kenny Mclean was next to try his luck, only to shoot straight at the visiting goalkeeper.
Pars livewire Josh Falkingham produced some excellent skill outside the box before firing a shot which went inches wide, before the Buddies grabbed the all-important third goal of the game.
