Oxford United 3-3 Dagenham & Redbridge

Oxford's Danny Hylton
Hylton has now scored five goals in all competitions since joining Oxford in June

Oxford collected their first point of the season, but boss Michael Appleton was denied a first league win in a six-goal thriller with Dagenham.

Alex Jakubiak's turned in Joe Riley's cross for Oxford's opener, but it was quickly cancelled out by Ashley Hemmings, who levelled from nine yards.

Jamie Cureton put the visitors in front before Danny Hylton's brace, the second a penalty, put the hosts ahead again.

However, Abu Ogogo's long-range volley secured a draw for the Daggers.

Dagenham and Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett told BBC London 94.9:

"I think it's a very, very good point. We've come to an Oxford team who are very, very good. They move the ball nicely, they've got some very good players and I'm delighted that we've managed to pick a point up.

"The players were adamant that the third goal wasn't a penalty but you have to get on with it.

"It's very difficult to deal with and I wasn't happy to say the least, but we've shown great character, great spirit and it was a fantastic goal from our captain."
