The visitors had Cian Bolger sent off for a second bookable offence after just 15 minutes.
Striker Alessandra put the Pilgrims in front after the break when he finished from 10 yards after Kevin Mellor's strong run and cutback.
Mellor and Alessandra combined well to set up Reid to head home his fifth of the season from eight yards.
