Salisbury City: Wessex League rejects club's application
Salisbury City's application to join the Wessex League has been rejected.
The Whites were expelled from the Conference after failing to pay debts.
A League statement said: "The League cannot see that the club has a structure in place, on or off the pitch, to compete in the League.
"The ongoing court cases place a question mark over any long-term involvement with the League. The League, along with its clubs, have therefore rejected the application."
The 2014-15 Wessex League season had already started, with some clubs playing their seventh match of the season on 27 August.
Salisbury face a winding-up order from HMRC at the High Court on Monday.
Initially, the club was demoted one division to the Conference South in June, before being thrown out of the Conference two weeks' later having missed a deadline to pay all outstanding debts.
An appeal against the club's demotion was subsequently dismissed by the Football Association.
Earlier this month, a consortium's attempt to take over the club failed.
