Rob Edwards hopes to secure his first home win as Tranmere manager against Morecambe on Saturday.

Rovers needed a stoppage-time equaliser to draw with York on the opening day and then lost 3-2 to Cheltenham last weekend, having led 2-0 at half-time.

"Our two home games have been difficult days," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"We need a home win and a home performance with energy and drive. We've been too easy to play against in the two home games."

The 41-year-old continued: "Fans want you to roll their sleeves up and have a real go for the club. At times we've looked a little bit on the back foot.

"I want the players to go out and give their all. If players are out there doing their best and giving everything, you'll accept mistakes, but you won't accept players who are not giving everything."

Tranmere were relegated from League One at the end of last season and, under new manager Edwards, have picked up four points from their first four games.

Their only victory so far this term came away at Wycombe.
