Chesterfield 0-3 Swindon Town

Swindon Town moved up to third in League One with a convincing victory at mid-table Chesterfield.

The Spireites had the early chances with Jimmy Ryan, Eoin Doyle and Sam Morsy all going close, before the visitors scored twice in four minutes.

Yaser Kasim's curling free-kick was followed by a Nathan Byrne strike as he cut inside to beat keeper Tommy Lee.

Andy Williams scored Swindon's third when he rounded Lee two minutes after coming on as substitute.

Swindon are five points behind second-placed Preston, who won 2-0 at Leyton Orient.

Swindon Town defender and goalscorer Nathan Byrne told BBC Wiltshire:

"The main thing for us is that we got a clean sheet.

"We've been disappointed with the last three games and we wanted to put it right.

"The gaffer said the main thing was to stay in the game and defend properly.

"We know we never have a problem going forward so that's what we did and it paid off."
