Crawley Town 0-4 Rochdale

Peter Vincenti
Peter Vincenti scored two goals in 12 second-half minutes for Rochdale.

Peter Vincenti scored twice as Rochdale thumped Crawley to condemn them to their fourth straight league defeat.

Matty Done's fine first-half curler from the edge of the box put the Dale in front after slack defending.

Vincenti slotted in Done's cutback to double the lead before his header into the bottom corner sealed victory.

Calvin Andrew added a fourth following neat play from Done while Crawley's best chance saw Matt Harrold's header brilliantly saved by Conrad Logan.

Crawley Town boss John Gregory told BBC Sussex:

"I have to take full responsibility for the outcome of that, and I have to apologise to our fans. I have to apologise for the performance, for the way we set up, the tactics.

"The fans were singing that they were embarrassed and I am more embarrassed than they are.

"We certainly didn't defend as well as we did do in our first three matches, when we were watertight.

"We didn't look like scoring, which is particularly worrying trend which has surfaced in the last couple of games.

"I will always stand by my players but it was hard to recognise too many of my boys today."

Rochdale manager Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester:

"It's a difficult fixture for any team within this respective league.

"We're very honest and we're very respectful of any opposition, we try and come up with game plans that will suit us.

"There wasn't much in the first half, we had to sort one or two things out at half-time and I think we were worthy winners in the end."
