Celtic have signed striker Stefan Scepovic but ran out of time to complete a deal for Manchester City striker John Guidetti.
The champions have offloaded Teemu Pukki, Amido Balde, Holmbert Fridjonsson, Jackson Irvine and Dylan McGeough on loan deals.
Ross County have also been busy, despite not having a manager.
Darren Barr has signed on with the Staggies, while Michael Gardyne and Jackson Irvine have agreed loans.
Partick Thistle have landed former Liverpool striker Nathan Eccleston.
Alloa have borrowed Dundee defender Kyle Benedictus, Aberdeen defender Joe Shaughnessy has joined Falkirk on loan and the Bairns have signed released Hearts winger David Smith.
Championship leaders Hearts have also loaned Gary Oliver to Stenhousemuir.
Celtic midfielder McGeough has joined Hibernian and will be joined at Easter Road by striker Jake Sinclair from Southampton.
Rangers youngsters Barrie McKay, Robbie Crawford, Calum Gallacher, Craig Halkett, Luca Gasparotto, Tom Walsh and Daniel Stoney have gone out on loan to Raith Rovers, Morton, Cowdenbeath Clyde, Airdrie, Stenhousemuir and Stranraer, respectively.
