Joe Connor's first-half goal gave Southport a narrow victory over high-flying Kidderminster Harriers.
Connor's header, after Daniel Lewis had saved Richard Brodie's effort, secured Southport all three points.
Brodie, who was later sent off for a second yellow, also went close when he cut inside from the left, but his low shot went wide of the right-hand post.
Jack Byrne had an early chance for Kidderminster but his header was parried by Dan Lloyd-Weston.
It was Kidderminster's first defeat of the season and they drop to sixth, while Southport move up to 16th.
Defender Clayton McDonald played the full 90 minutes for the hosts, having joined the Sandgrounders following his departure from Tranmere Rovers.
