Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback has pulled out of the England squad and will miss Monday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland with a calf injury.
Colback, 24, was called up for the first time for the games against Norway and the Swiss, but failed to recover from a knock he picked in training on the eve of Wednesday's 1-0 win.
"Jack Colback has had to leave us," said England manager Roy Hodgson.
"He took a very nasty kick on the back of the calf."
Hodgson added: "We were hoping he would train with us, but he can't do that, so it's better to send him back to Newcastle."
Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill sat with ice on his ankle after being replaced with six minutes from the end against Norway, while fellow defender John Stones, making his first England start, came off with cramp with nine minutes remaining.
"Gary could have completed the game, but we thought it prudent to take him off," added Hodgson.
"There shouldn't be any doubt about him playing on Monday."
