York's Michael Ingham pulled off four excellent saves as he helped to earn his side a point against Luton.
The shot-shy Minstermen have now failed to score in five of their 10 games this season, but will be happy to have come away with a point.
Luke Rooney came close to opening the scoring, but was denied by a superb reflex save by in-form Ingham.
Russell Penn went closest for the home side, but Mark Tyler saved well from 10 yards to keep the game goalless.

''It was a first-class performance, without a doubt. Everyone is doing their jobs now. We're in our groove.
''I thought people should have taken their chances. They didn't, we've played terrific, but we do have to take our chances, there's no doubt about that.
''These young ones that we've brought in, they'll gradually, in two or three years' time, be the future of this football club. It's really, really pleasing."
