Bury came from behind and extended their unbeaten league record to seven games with a win over Stevenage.
The visitors opened the scoring when striker Adam Marriott fired a shot underneath goalkeeper Rob Lainton.
Veteran striker Ryan Lowe rifled a superb free-kick into the top corner minutes later to bring Bury level.
The Shakers' winner came when Danny Rose set up Craig Jones to finish from close range before Ryan Johnson was sent off for two yellow cards.
Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"It was never going to be an easy trip for us. We looked inexperienced, we lost out defensive shape out of eagerness and willingness to work hard.
"We're working at the moment with a lot of young lads who are gaining very good experience, who are improving as players, and we came up slightly short tonight.
"We had a couple of great chances. We could have seen the game finish level.
"There was a lot of work ethic, a lot of desire, a lot of grit and determination to stay in the game. It's disappointing to lose. I still see signs of improvement in a lot of our individuals and in the team, despite the absence of some key senior players."
