Cambridge United 0-1 Luton Town

Luton's Mark Cullen
Cullen scored his third of the season to give Luton the win

Mark Cullen scored with nine minutes remaining to give Luton a narrow win at 10-man Cambridge.

Cullen followed up his own penalty, which was saved by Chris Dunn following Richard Tait's foul on Pelly Ruddock, to fire in on the rebound.

This came after Tom Naylor, making his United debut after signing on loan from Derby, was shown a straight red for a poor tackle on Jim Stevenson.

Ruddock had hit the bar with a shot for Luton before the dismissal.

Luton manager John Still told BBC Three Counties Radio:

On goalscorer Mark Cullen: "He scored a really important goal last year, and a really important goal this year. And you know what, a good player will score important goals so I'm pleased for him.

"I think we cancelled each other out first half. We started out with a system we had to change and it was difficult, but once we could talk it through at half-time we thought it was better."

On injuries: "It's really difficult for us at the minute, but that team ethic is what gets you through."
