Aldershot secured their first win in five matches as they edged out Lincoln.
Jordan Burrow forced a flying save from Shots keeper Phil Smith early on.
Brett Williams thundered home his sixth of the season with an unstoppable shot from inside the penalty area to give the home side the lead.
Nick Townsend denied Williams a second with a superb save before Hamza Bencherif went one-on-one with Smith, but the goalkeeper denied the midfielder a late equaliser.
Aldershot Town boss Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:
"It wasn't pretty but playing Lincoln, it never is. They asked questions of us but I think from the first minute we showed our intention.
"We got the job done and after Tuesday night I think everyone deserved that. The fans deserved that and so did we and it was a big result for us."
"The players were under pressure today and we all were as a group because Tuesday was not acceptable.
"In fairness to the players they have always done everything we ask them and I take responsibility for Tuesday for making mistakes. We can still improve and that's what we will continue to do."
