Conor Pepper scored 14 minutes from time to help Morton leapfrog Dunfermline in Scottish League One.
Declan McManus opened the scoring inside half an hour when he struck after good work from Sean Crighton.
McManus nearly got his second as he pulled a shot just wide before the Pars levelled through Ross Millen's penalty.
The visitors were behind again four minutes later, though, when Pepper headed home Andrew Barrowman's cross and the Ton held on for the win.
It was Morton's fourth victory in their last five and they are now just one point behind leaders Ayr United.
