Striker Paul McManus headed the visitors in front before Brian McQueen was dismissed for a second booking.
Scott Ferguson levelled from close range and scored with a fantastic free kick on the stroke of half-time after Scott McBride had replied.
A double from Dylan Carreiro made it 4-2 to Arbroath and Simon Murray rounded off the scoring with a powerful strike.
