Blackpool 1-3 Norwich City

Lewis Grabban
Lewis Grabban's deflected strike put Norwich on the way to victory at Blackpool

Norwich went top of the Championship after coming back from a goal down at Blackpool to record their fourth consecutive away league victory.

Nathan Delfouneso put the hosts in front, turning in a rebound after John Ruddy saved well from Ishmael Miller.

The Canaries levelled when Donervon Daniels headed Nathan Redmond's corner into his own net before Lewis Grabban's deflected strike put them ahead.

Josh Murphy's fine strike sealed the win.

Norwich replace Nottingham Forest at the top of the table after Stuart Pearce's side could only draw with Brighton.

The Norfolk side fell to a shock 1-0 Capital Cup defeat against League Two Shrewsbury in midweek and they started slowly against a Blackpool team who are now bottom of the Championship following their seventh defeat in nine league games.

Tony McMahon and Francois Zoko both had early efforts that forced Norwich keeper Ruddy into action.

Grabban's left-footed effort was deflected wide, while Costa Rica midfielder Jose Cubero - making his Blackpool debut after finally being granted a work permit - blazed high and wide at the other end.

Delfouneso ends Blackpool's goal drought
Nathan Delfouneso's 46th-minute goal was Blackpool's first since Nile Ranger's strike in a 2-1 defeat at Millwall on 30 August.

Grabban missed a decent opportunity as half-time approached, dragging wide of the left-hand post after being picked out by Wes Hoolahan's pinpoint pass.

The game burst into life at the start of the second half as Blackpool went in front through Delfouneso's close-range effort, but the lead lasted only eight minutes as Redmond's corner was inadvertently turned into his own goal off a post by Daniels.

Norwich had the momentum and Joe Lewis pulled off a fine save to deny Bradley Johnson, before their pressure eventually told with 10 minutes to go as Grabban's sixth goal of the season found the net with the aid of a deflection.

A minute later, the hosts' fate was sealed when substitute Murphy cut into the box from the left to score his first league goal for Norwich.

Norwich manager Neil Adams: "There's a long way to go but it is of course very nice to be top of the table.

"We have tremendous spirit, hunger and quality. When you go behind and you're behind the barrel of the gun, you see those characteristics.

"We scored three goals from not that many chances. It's always good to know when we put our foot through the gears we can really play."

Blackpool manager Jose Riga: "I think we could have got a draw. We were unlucky.

"When I saw the first half of the game, I'd forgotten that we had a defensive shortage because we were really in the game.

"I'm frustrated. Norwich are the team that have impressed me the most in the Championship and unfortunately we saw that quality in the second half."
