Leyton Orient 2-3 Rochdale

Keith Hill
Victory moved Keith Hill's Rochdale up to fifth in League One

Two goals from Matty Done helped 10-man Rochdale to a 3-2 win at managerless Leyton Orient.

Done struck first on four minutes from 20 yards before Jobi McAnuff's fierce volley levelled the scores.

Dale defender Ashley Eastham saw red for bringing down Chris Dagnall but the striker's penalty was saved.

Romain Vincelot's header gave the O's the lead before Peter Vincenti equalised and Done then stole it for the high-flying visitors on the break.

Orient were playing their first game since the resignation of Russell Slade in midweek.

Leyton Orient caretaker manager Kevin Nugent told BBC London 94.9:

"It was two goals in the second half that we really didn't expect to happen but they did - two poor goals and poor defending really.

"It was from our set-piece that the other team has broken away and scored and it has really cost us.

"We started the game reasonably brightly, although we didn't defend well enough for the first goal earlier on, but we got back into it and showed tremendous spirit to get back into it - that's a positive thing.

"Going in at half-time against 10 men, you're expected to go on and win it, and in the worst case scenario you're picking up a point."

Rochdale assistant manager Chris Beech told BBC Radio Manchester:

"There's an atmosphere in those changing rooms after the game that the players have never experienced.

"They've talked about it being probably the best experience and three points they've ever earned.

"The manager had a plan at the break that the players fully implemented."
