FC Halifax were made to rue missed chances and lost ground on leaders Barnet after being held by Braintree.
Simon Ainge nodded over, Marc Roberts' header was blocked by Mitch Brundle and Steve Williams was also off target, all from Adam Smith corners.
Danny Hattersley then headed over the bar, Paul Marshall fired over and Nick Hamann saved well from Roberts.
The keeper also kept out Marshall's free-kick, before Michael Bakare missed a chance for the visitors to snatch it.
FC Halifax now trail Barnet by four points after the Bees won 2-1 at Forest Green Rovers.
